Rare and excellent pair of signatures-- Hammerstein's uninscribed and in blue fountain pen and Rodgers' in black fine-tip pen and dedicated to an inveterate collector-- on separate tan 3x5-inch cards, dating to the 1950s. Accompanied by a 10x8-inch black and white portrait. In good condition, with hints of toning. Legendary composers Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II created a string of popular Broadway musicals which went on to become staples of musical theater, including "Carousel," "South Pacific," "The King and I," "The Sound of Music," "Cinderella," and "Oklahoma!"
