Rare and early fountain pen signature on a 5.5 x 7.5-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person around 1937, the year of his first film appearance at age 13. In good condition and ideal for matting with a favorite photograph. Exuberant, exotic-looking adolescent Sabu was imported from the jungles of India to star in a long succession of fantasy, adventure and sci-fi films, including Elephant Boy (1937), The Thief of Bagdad (1940), The Jungle Book (1942), Arabian Nights (1942), White Savage (1943), Cobra Woman (1944), Tangier (1946), Man-Eater of Kumaon (1948), Song of India (1949), Savage Drums (1951), Jungle Hell (1956), Jaguar (1956), Sabu and the Magic Ring (1957), and Mistress of the World (1960). He was also memorable in the dramas The End of the River and Black Narcissus, both in 1947. Despite being an extraordinary athlete, at the peek of his health, the star died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 39 and his autograph is highly elusive in any format.
