Cat. #00320222: ALBERT SALMI

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Exceptionally rare vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait as Pete Ritter on T.V.'s "Petrocelli" (1974-1976), boldly signed in black felt-tip marker in the period of the show. In good condition, with a few minor handling dings and a sticker from the third-party authentication service Beckett affixed to the lower left-hand corner. Beefy, round-faced character actor Albert Salmi was most associated with the western genre, equally adept at playing nasty villains, misunderstood good guys and true-blue sidekicks in countless big screen and T.V. oaters. His non-western credits include The Brothers Karamazov (1958), which earned him an Oscar nod he refused; multiple episodes of T.V.'s "The Twilight Zone" (1960-1963); sci-fi's Escape from Planet of the Apes (1971); Caddyshack (1980); and Dragonslayer (1981). In 1990, he fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. He was only 62. A quiet, intensely private man throughout his career, Salmi didn't sign much for fans and his autograph is quite uncommon in any format.
