Extremely uncommon vintage clipped red ballpoint pen signature on a 2x5-inch trimmed slip, acquired in-person by inveterate collector John Virzi in the 1960s and originally affixed to a larger card, from which it has become detached. In good condition, with a tiny fleck of soiling below the writing, which can easily be trimmed away. This is just the third autograph we have ever encountered of the prolific, wide-eyed, ever-frenetic character actor, who popped up in nearly 300 classic films and television programs of the 1930s through 1960s. Notable credits included Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), They Drive by Night (1940), High Sierra (1941), The Best Years of Our Lives (1949), Easter Parade (1948), In the Good Old Summertime (1949), The Heiress (1949), The Glass Menagerie (1950), "The Lone Ranger" (1952-1957), The Farmer Takes a Wife (1953), "The Adventures of Superman" (1953-1955), The Seven Year Itch (1955), "I Love Lucy" (1956), and "Leave It to Beaver" (1957-1961).
