Pretty English leading lady Janette Scott is remembered by horror and sci-fi buffs for her starring roles as Karen Goodwin in The Day of the Triffids (1962), Eleanor Ashby in Paranoiac (1963), Cecily Femm in William Castle's remake of The Old Dark House (1963), and Dr. Maggie Sorenson in Crack in the World (1965). She also has the distinction of being referenced, alongside Claude Rains, Michael Rennie, George Pal, and other science-fiction icons, in the opening theme to The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975).
