Cat. #0032213: BLOSSOM SEELEY

Uncommon vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person by a busy New York City-based autograph hound in the early 1930s. In good condition, with a slightly frayed left edge, where the leaf was removed from the book. Known as the Queen of Syncopation, brassy vaudeville headliner Blossom Seeley helped to bring jazz and ragtime into the mainstream of American music. She was a major recording star, remembered for popularizing countless tunes, including "I Love a Piano," "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" and "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans."
