Extremely rare vintage inscribed fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pale yellow autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In very good condition. Adorable Peggy Shannon began her career as a Ziegfeld girl and stage actress. She was signed by Paramount Pictures as a replacement for Clara Bow in The Secret Call (1931), and went on to strong work in films like The Road to Reno (1931), Girl Missing (1933), Deluge (1933), The Women (1939), and House Across the Bay (1940). Alas, a growing dependency on alcohol derailed her promising career and she died of heart failure in 1941, aged only 34 years. Her husband Albert G. Roberts shot himself to death three weeks later.
