Almost impossible to find 1974 first day cover, boldly signed in ballpoint pen by the beloved children's poet and artist who created The Giving Tree, Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic.  He famously shunned autograph collectors and apparently didn't care very much for kids!  As we understand it, this is one of a pair of first day covers signed on the same day, April 18, 1974, one of which was sold via RR Auction in September, 2014 for just short of $400.00.  In very good condition and superb for display.  This is just the fifth example of Shel Silverstein's autograph we know to have surfaced anywhere, all of which have sold in the $400 range, and the first we have ever offered.
