Scarce signature in black marker on a vintage first day cover, cancelled in 1988, honoring fellow football star Knute Rockne. In very good condition. The once beloved athlete and occasional film actor-- memorable in The Towering Inferno (1974) and the Naked Gun trilogy (1988, 1991, 1994)-- fell from grace in the public eye when he was accused of brutally murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, and was acquitted, some thought unjustly. 13 years later, he was found guilty on armed robbery and kidnapping charges and sentenced to 33 years in prison, which he is presently serving out at the Lovelock Correctional Facility in Nevada. His autograph is becoming increasingly rare in any format.
