Scarce vintage fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pale green autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. George Bancroft signs in fountain pen on the verso. In good condition for its age, with some water stains to the upper edge and some soiling to the bottom area, not affecting the writing. Nice for matting. Stage and screen actor Sir Guy Standing-- brother of Wyndham Standing, of Dracula note-- specialized in playing crusty authoritarian types, often with military bents. He is remembered by horror, sci-fi and fantasy buffs for his work in Double Door (1934), Death Takes a Holiday (1934) and The Witching Hour (1934), and had just completed his first (and last) appearance as Scotland Yard Inspector Neilson in Paramount's Bulldog Drummond series when he died of a heart attack, brought on by a rattlesnake bite.
