Cat. #004031812: LINDA STIRLING

Uncommon 8x10-inch black and white portrait as the titular feline in The Tiger Woman (1944), boldly signed in black fine-tip pen in the 1980s.  In good condition, with a few surface imperfections which are completely invisible when the photo is viewed head-on.  After making her bones as a fashion model and Earl Carroll showgirl, gorgeous Linda Stirling was discovered by Republic Studios, who turned her into a hard-fighting, hard-riding action serial and B-western star.  Her long list of enjoyable, if not Oscar-worthy credits, includes Zorro's Black Whip (1944), The Purple Monster Strikes (1945), The Topeka Terror (1945), The Crimson Ghost (1946), The Invisible Informer (1946), and Jesse James Rides Again (1947).
