Cat. #004043: GLENN STRANGE

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Extremely rare and absolutely fantastic 8x10-inch black and white publicity portrait of the iconic monster in the Universal Horror classic House of Frankenstein (1944), bathed in shadows and exuding menace, boldly signed and inscribed in black felt-tip marker in-person for horror guru Blackie Seymour-- with whom he regularly played poker!-- in the early 1970s. Check out that fantastic neck scar, put together by make-up master Jack P. Pierce! In good condition, with minor edge wear. The photo is a quality 1970s print of a 1944 original. Hulking B-movie villain and western star Glenn Strange is beloved of horror, sci-fi and fantasy buffs for his portrayals of Frankenstein’s monster in House of Frankenstein (1944), House of Dracula (1945) and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948).  He also had supporting roles in The Mad Monster (1942), The Mummy’s Tomb (1942) and The Monster Maker (1944).
