Scarce vintage fountain pen signature on a 3x5-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s.  In good condition for its age and suitable for matting.  Scottish-born character actor John Stuart played physicians, aristocrats, detectives, military men, and other authority figures in nearly 200 silent, early talkie and Golden Age films, including The School for Scandal (1923); the Sherlock Holmes flick The Hound of the Baskervilles (1932), in the title role; The Lost Atlantis (1932); Flying Fortress (1942; horror's House of Darkness (1948); The Men of Sherwood Forest (1952);The Gilded Cage (1955); Hammer's The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958), Blood of the Vampire (1958), The Mummy (1959), and Paranoiac (1963); Sink the Bismark! (1960); the cult classic Village of the Damned (1960); Pit of Darkness (1961); and, later in life, Superman (1978).
