Highly rare vintage heavy pencil signature on a 4x6-inch pale grey album leaf, acquired in-person by inveterate collector Rosanne Deerdorff Ochoa in 1935. Actress Claire Dodd signs on the verso. A faint diagonal crease traversing the page, passing through the writing, and the autograph given along the very edge of the page; otherwise in good condition for its age. Note that the image of the star shown alongside the scan of the autograph here is not actually included. Beautiful Sheila Terry dazzled throughout an eight-year career at Warner Brothers which included Scarlet Dawn (1932); the John Wayne westerns Haunted Gold (1932), 'Neath the Arizona Skies (1934) and The Lawless Frontier (1934); Michael Curtiz' 20,000 Years in Sing Sing (1932); Madame Butterfly (1932); The Mayor of Hell (1933); the Lionel Atwill crime flick The Sphinx (1933); and A Scream in the Night (1935). After abandoning Hollywood to attempt a stage career, she sank into poverty and despondency, committing suicide by gunshot at the age of 46. This is just the fourth example of her autograph we have encountered in 30 years.
