Cat. #005215: RAQUEL TORRES

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage 8x10-inch black and white swimsuit portrait in her prime, boldly signed and inscribed in violet felt-tip pen in the late 1970s or early 1980s. In good condition. The all-to-brief career of beautiful Mexican-born leading lady Raquel Torres included W.S. Van Dyke's innovative White Shadows in the South Seas (1928), The Bridge of San Luis Rey (1929), the Tim McCoy oater The Desert Rider (1929), The Sea Bat (1930), and Aloha (1931). Just before vanishing from the screen in her late twenties to marry and raise a family, she played sexy foils to two raucous comedy teams: Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey in So This Is Africa (1933) and the Marx Brothers in Duck Soup (1933). Her autograph is highly uncommon in any format.
