Vintage blue fountain pen signature on a 3x5-inch tan card, acquired in-person at the fabled Hollywood Canteen in 1944, as noted on the verso by the original collector. In good condition, with some toning to the left and upper edges, well away from the writing, and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. English-born Arthur Treacher was Hollywood's quintessential majordomo, in films like Curly Top (1935), Thank You, Jeeves! (1936), Step Lively, Jeeves! (1937), Heidi (1937), and The Little Princess (1939). Elsewhere, he played clueless aristocrats, eccentric townsfolk and lighthearted constables, stealing scenes in David Copperfield (1935), Cardinal Richelieu (1935), Magnificent Obsession (1935), Anything Goes (1936), Satan Met a Lady (1936), National Velvet (1944), and Mary Poppins (1964).
