Highly rare vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 3.5 x 6-inch portion of a tan album page, dating to the early 1930s. In good condition for its age, with a minor vertical fold passing through the "E" in his first name and neat trimming to the upper edge. Friendly-faced English character actor Henry Travers is best remembered for his portrayal of bumbling angel Clarence Odbody in the holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life (1946), filmed about half a decade before this photo was autographed. He was elsewhere memorable as Dr. Cranley in the horror classic The Invisible Man (1933), Baron Cesarea in Death Takes a Holiday (1934), Dr. Parsons in Dark Victory (1939), Reverand Smiley in The Rains Came (1939), Dr. Evans in On Borrowed Time (1939), Pa in High Sierra (1941), Mr. Ballard in Mrs. Miniver (1942), Dr. Sims in Random Harvest (1942), Joseph Newton in Shadow of a Doubt (1942), and Horace P. Bogardus in The Bells of St. Mary's (1945).
