Cat. #00524342: FLORENCE TURNER

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly scarce fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pale yellow autograph album page, acquired in-person by inveterate collector Rae Sargent in 1936, and decorated with a magazine image and a foil star.  In good condition.  Dubbed "The Vitagraph Girl", diminutive, raven-haired silent film diva Florence Turner is considered the first true blue "movie star".  She excelled at playing forlorn beauties in early dramas and comedies, settling into character work with the advent of talkies.  She died, virtually penniless and all but forgotten, at 61.
