Scarce and beautiful vintage 8x10-inch black and white glamour portrait, boldly signed in blue fountain pen in the 1940s. In good condition, with a hint of waviness in spots, and excellent for display. Fetching Martha Vickers abandoned a modeling career at the age of 18, lured to Hollywood to play Margareta, Vazec's daughter, in the horror classic Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943). She was thereafter a B-movie scream queen and bad girl, memorable as Dorothy Colman in Captive Wild Woman (1943), Miss McLean in The Mummy's Hand (1944) and the thumb-sucking nymphet Carmen Sternwood in The Big Sleep (1946). The sultry, auburn-haired beauty died of cancer of the esophagus at age 46, and her autograph is highly uncommon in any format.
