Extremely rare and just extraordinary vintage 10x8-inch glossy black and white portrait at the piano, boldly signed and inscribed with his full name and nickname-- which was not his custom-- in green fountain pen, “To / Yes! Yes! Yes! /J. Wesley / With Best Wishes / Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller.” In fine condition, with scattered very mild thumbing bends and faint surface impressions, not noticeably detracting from the overall appearance of this outstanding piece. 300-pound, hard-drinking Black jazz pianist, singer, composer, and occasional film actor Thomas "Fats" Waller penned heaps of hits like "Ain't Misbehavin," "Honeysuckle Rose," "Black and Blue," "Blue Turned Grey Over You," and "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now." He died of pneumonia at the age of 39 and his autograph is quite uncommon in any format.
