Cat. #005632: MONA WASHBOURNE

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rather scarce vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pink autograph album page, acquired in-person by inveterate collector Edward Gelman in 1970. In good condition, with the "T" in "To" in the dedication passing over one of the puncture holes on the left edge. Beloved roly-poly British character actress Mona Washbourne played midwives, barmaids, nannies, landladies, and factory workers in scores of classic films.  Memorable as Frau Helga Lang in Hammer Studios' The Brides of Dracula (1960), she made several other notable contributions to the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres, including Alias John Preston (1955), Child's Play (1954), Night Must Fall (1964), The Bed Sitting Room (1969), What Became of Jack and Jill? (1972), O Lucky Man! (1973), and The Blue Bird (1976).
