Uncommonly early black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pink autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In good condition for its age, with one small fleck of soiling, well away from the writing, and nice for matting with a favorite photograph of the star. Eminent jazz, blues and gospel singer Ethel Waters made a number of noteworthy forays into motion pictures, including Tales of Manhattan (1942), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Stage Door Canteen (1943), and Pinky (1949), for which she earned an Oscar nod. She also shined in the title role on T.V.'s "Beulah" (1950-1951).
