Cat. #005661: MINOR WATSON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rare vintage ballpoint pen signature on a 3-3/4 x 7-inch biography clipped from a playbill, acquired in-person in the 1950s. In good condition, overall, with some irregular trimming to the edges. Courtly stage actor Minor Watson made his fillm debut during the silent era, eventually emerging as a staple character player in early talkie and Golden Age films.  With his friendly face and soft, Southern drawl, he was typically cast as jovial, grandfatherly physicians, shopkeepers, impresarios, military officers, and other authority figures.  His countless credits include Charlie Chan in Paris (1935), Boys Town (1938), While New York Sleeps (1938), Fast Company (1938), Of Human Hearts (1938), Television Spy (1939), the horror flick The Monster and the Girl (1941), Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), Kings Row (1942), Woman of the Year (1942), The Remarkable Andrew (1942), Guadalcanal Diary (1943), The Falcon Out West (1944), Bewitched (1945), The Thin Man Comes Home (1945), A Bell for Adano (1945), Beyond the Forest (1949), The Jackie Robinson Story (1950), and Trapeze (1956).
