Scarce, iconic vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait as a shirtless, knife-wielding Tarzan, flanked by Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane, boldly signed in black felt-tip marker, adding his character name, in his later years. In good condition, with the image itself having a scratch of hair embedded in the print, not substantially detracting from the overall appearance or desirability. Five-time Olympic gold medal swimmer-turned-Hollywood film star Johnny Weissmuller was the sixth, and undoubtedly the most popular actor to portray Tarzan on the screen. A bit of trivia: It was Weissmuller who gave the character his trademark ululating jungle call. Later, he was also noteworthy as no-nonsense Jungle Jim in the 1948 "B" movie based upon the comic strip by "Flash Gordon" creator Alex Raymond.
