Scarce and SUPERB vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen for a physician in the early 1940s. In good condition and magnificent for display. Brilliant Orson Welles was Oscar nominated for directing and starring in Citizen Kane (1941), and shared a trophy with Herman J. Mankiewicz for the screenplay. Other highlights of his extraordinary career include The Magnificent Ambersons (1942); Journey Into Fear (1943); The Stranger (1946); Lady of Shanghai (1947); Confidential Report (1955); and Touch of Evil (1958). He is also remembered for his infamous "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast of 1938, which scared the bejesus out of those who tuned in too late to know it wasn't a news announcement.
