Uncommon vintage 10x8-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in-person for an inveterate New York City-based autograph hound in the 1930s. In good condition, with some minor edgewear. Auburn-haired beauty Arleen Whelan was memorable in Kidnapped (1938)  Young Mr. Lincoln (1939), Sabotage (1941), Charley's Aunt (1941), Charlie Chan in Castle in the Desert (1942), The Senator Was Indiscreet (1947), That Wonderful Urge (1948), and The Sun Shines Bright (1953) before she abandoned Hollywood at the age of 43.
