Cat. #005853: MEREDITH WILLSON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a roughly 5x8-inch tan page, trimmed from a book he inscribed for a fan in the 1960s. In very good condition and ideal for matting with a favorite photograph. Brilliant Broadway composer, lyricist, composer, and arranger Meredith Willson-- a master of incorporating folksy dialects, wordplay and ambient sounds into his impossibly catchy tunes-- is remembered for the scores to "The Music Man" (1959) and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1960). In addition to a Grammy Award for the original cast album for "The Music Man," he snagged two Oscar nominations for his scores for The Great Dictator (1941) and The Little Foxes (1942).
