Cat. #0058653: MARIE WINDSOR

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Alluring 8x10-inch black and white boudoir portrait in her prime, boldly signed with her name alone in black felt-tip marker in the 1980s. In good condition, with mild waviness along the top area. After studying acting under Maria Ouspenskaya, Marie Windsor played bits on radio and in feature films until landing the role of Helen Amboy in Song of the Thin Man (1947).  She thereafter went on to star in a long string of B-level westerns, noirs, and thrillers, playing dance hall queens, gun molls, floozies, and exotic villainesses.  She was unforgettable as Elisha Cook's cold-blooded, castrating wife in Stanley Kubrick's The Killing (1956), as well as in Force of Evil (1948), The Narrow Margin (1952), The Sniper (1952), The Tall Texan (1953), The City That Never Sleeps (1953), Hell's Half Acre (1954), and The Girl in Black Stockings (1957).  Her numerous contributions to the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres included The Jungle (1952), Cat-Women on the Moon (1953), Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955), Swamp Women (1956), The Story of Mankind (1957), The Day Mars Invaded Earth (1963), T.V.'s "Batman" (1966), Chamber of Horrors (1966), Freaky Friday (1976), 'Salem's Lot (1979), The Perfect Woman (1981), and J.O.E. and the Colonel (1985).
