Scarce signature and sketch in blue felt-tip marker on a 3x5-inch white slip, attained by Marvel employee Alan Kupperman in about 1969 and recently acquired from his estate. In good condition and ideal for display. Superb comic book artist Wallace "Wally" Wood, who is remembered for his work for E.C. Comics, including issues of Aces High, The Crypt of Terror, Gunfighter, MAD, and The Haunt of Fear; issues of Warren Publishing's Vampirella, Eerie, Creepy, Famous Monsters of Filmland, and Monster World; Marvel's Daredevil; and Topps' Trading Cards' iconic Mars Attacks series. Long troubled by alcoholism and health issues, he died at the age of 54. E.C. and MAD publisher William M. Gaines once said of him, "Wally may have been our most troubled artist... I'm not suggesting any connection, but he may have been our most brilliant".
