Highly rare vintage black ink signature on a 4x6-inch off-white card, acquired in-person by inveterate autograph hound John Virzi in the 1960s and decorated with a book image. In very good condition and suitable for matting with a favorite photograph. Dignified English character actor Frederick Worlock played lords, landowners, governors, inspectors, judges, military men, and other persons of authority, typically good-natured, but more often than not, downright evil. He made a number of contributions to the horror, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and crime film genres, most notably Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941), Sherlock Holmes in Washington (1943), Sherlock Holmes Faces Death (1943), Jane Eyre (1943), The Lodger (1943), Hangover Square (1945), The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945), Sherlock Holmes in The Woman in Green (1945), The Fatal Witness (1945), Sherlock Holmes in Terror by Night (1946), She-Wolf of London (1946), Sherlock Holmes in Dressed to Kill (1946), and The Lone Wolf in London (1947). In 1962, he lent his distinctive voice to Horace in Disney's animated classic 101 Dalmations.
