Cat. #00605212: LORETTA YOUNG

Vintage matte-finish 11x14-inch sepia-tone publicity portrait for 1941's The Men in Her Life, boldly signed with her name alone in black fountain pen, probably in the 1950s or 1960s. In fine condition, with mild handling bends in the background along the top of the image. After work in silent films, including Laugh, Clown, Laugh (1928) with Lon Chaney, Sr. and Seven Footprints to Satan (1929), Loretta Young proved a dazzling leading lady in films like The House of Rothschild (1934), The Call of the Wild (1935), Ramona (1936), Suez (1938), Three Blind Mice (1938), The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (1939), The Stranger (1946), and The Bishop's Wife (1947). She earned an Oscar for The Farmer's Daughter (1947) and was nominated for Come to the Stable (1949) not long thereafter.
