Cat. #0054711: HELEN VINSON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Lovely 8x10-inch black and white portrait by Elmer Fryer, dating to the early 1930s, boldly signed in black fountain pen.  In good condition for its age, with gentle edge and corner wear, and scattered handling dings.  The supporting actress was typically relegated to "loose woman" or femme fatale roles, and was memorable in Jewel Robbery (1932), I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932), The Kennel Murder Case (1933), The Wedding Night (1935), and The Thin Man Goes Home (1945).  She made two forays into the sci-fi and horror genres, playing Varia Lloyd in Maurice Elvey's Transatlantic Tunnel (1935) and Chloe Donovan in George Sherman's The Lady and the Monster (1944).
