Cat. #0054711: HELEN VINSON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Uncommon vintage 8x10-inch black and white matte-finish portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in light purple fountain pen in the 1930s. In fine condition for its age, with mild creasing to the upper left-hand corner and a few stray flecks of ink to the left side, not touching the image itself. Supporting actress Helen Vinson was typically relegated to "loose woman" or femme fatale roles, as in Jewel Robbery (1932), I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932), The Kennel Murder Case (1933), The Wedding Night (1935), and The Thin Man Goes Home (1945). She was memorable in two sci-fi and horror flicks, playing Varia Lloyd in Maurice Elvey's Transatlantic Tunnel (1935) and Chloe Donovan in George Sherman's The Lady and the Monster (1944).
